Film tax credits are not a new phenomenon within state economic development policy. Its purpose is to stimulate the growth of the film industry in Missouri by reducing the film studio’s tax liability incurred within the state. The credit applies to tax liability incurred from expenditures on payroll and goods and services purchased within the state.
