Free Rides In The Zoo Museum Taxing District?

Show-Me Institute Intern, Haleigh Albers, talks about the demographic changes in the St. Louis area that impact the St. Louis Zoo-Museum Taxing District. As the population of the region has grown, the population living within the Tax District has decreased reducing the tax base. Are visitors from the wider region to the St. Louis Zoo free-riding on that diminished tax base?

Haleigh Albers Haleigh Albers, a native of southern Illinois, graduated from McKendree University in 2012 with a bachelor of business administration degree in economics and finance. Haleigh is working toward her master of science degree in economics and finance at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. After being introduced to the concept of free-market economics during her senior year at McKendree, she began pursuing more learning experiences in line with free-market thinking.
