Giving Arizona Children Better Opportunities in Education

In Arizona, individuals and corporations receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on their taxes for donations to school tuition organizations (STOs). The STOs use the donations to award scholarships for K-12 students. Since 1998, Arizona STOs have awarded more than $500 million in scholarships.

For 16 years, the awards have given thousands of Arizona students more choices. This case study highlights research demonstrating that the scholarships give families across the state, including low-income families, access to private schools.
