Show-Me Institute intern Jessica Stearns talks about the recent “Show-Me $15” campaign for a higher state-wide minimum wage. She points out that the minimum wage hurts the people it is suppose to help because employers inevitably fire workers to deal with their higher labor costs.

 

About the Author

Jessica Stearns, a native of Southeast Missouri, is a senior at Saint Louis University working toward a degree in political science and economics. She recently returned from a year of studying abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science. After graduation, she hopes to continue her education by pursuing a graduate degree in public policy.
