Among the most innovative and specialized school choice options not yet available in Missouri are education savings accounts (ESAs), which families can use to personalize their students’ education. Show-Me Institute analysts have written about the various possible applications of ESAs. Some examples:
- Students with special needs could take advantage of ESAs through Bryce’s Law
- Bullied students could use Child Safety Accounts
- ESAs could help gifted students from low-income families
- ESAs could also be used to make homeschooling more accessible or even provide the option for a child to attend a private school.
This graphic (available at the link below) provides a brief explanation of how ESAs could work if they were passed in Missouri and how they could serve our students.
